Greetz folks. This is a new section for the site where I will be comparing films, mostly originals and re-makes. The first one up is the detective thriller Insomnia. First produced in 1997 in Norway revolving around the Arctic Circle and then remade in 2002 in the small town of Nightmute, Alaska. Both films tell the story of a dirty cop who kills his partner in the fog when he thinks he is the suspect they are chasing. Now for a little breakdown on each film. Read the rest of this entry »

Al Pacino stars in this newish mystery thriller that isn’t that new to the online community as it was released last March on all bit torrent sites so chances are some of you have seen this already but to most of the American public it will be new today. Al Pacino plays a forensic psychiatrist and college professor who was responsible for a serial killer being put to the death penalty. But on the day of his injection Professor Gramm gets a message that he has 88 minutes left to live unless he talks up and confesses that all of his statements about the killer were false and based on nothing at all.

First things first, this movie doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. It goes from him having 88 minutes to live to him trying to save two of his colleagues and really if someone called you saying that, wouldn’t you just involve the cops instead of trying to dismantle it all by yourself. The plot holes are just running insane in this movie so the script is comparable to any low budget straight to dvd B-Movie. The acting is all pretty good though, it’s not a role that Pacino should really be playing but he does it justice. The supporting cast is all pretty good as well. It’s a shame that they all wasted their talents on a movie that doesn’t deserve to even be in a theatre though.
