The Sound of Animals Fighting is a California-based progressive rock music group featuring members of Rx Bandits, Circa Survive, Chiodos, Days Away/Good Old War, Finch and The Autumns. The group was brought together by Rich Balling.
The Ocean and the Sun is the third album of the Los Angeles-based progressive rock band, The Sound of Animals Fighting. Rich Balling has stated in interviews that it will be similar to the Tiger and the Duke EP. The band has also gone back to its original number of just four: the Nightingale, the Walrus, the Lynx, and The Skunk.
This album is a nice improvement over the oddness of “Lover, the Lord Has Left Us” but it’s still not the craziness that was “Tiger and the Duke”. The album does have some really nice sounding songs on it though and this album is much more listener friendly than the others. I’m happy that they went back to just the original lineup and stopped with the collaborations so much.
